THE ALLIANCE DE CATTLEYA (BARKERIA, CATTTEYA, ENCYCLIA, EPIDENDRUM, LAELIA AND SEUS HÍBRIDOS)
Origin - They are epiphytic plants, originating from South America and who like tropical and humid environments.
Luminosity - They like half-shadow light without direct sun. If the plant gets the leaves very clear it may be getting too much light. In winter we can leave the plant more exposed to light.
Temperature and Humidity - Optimum temperatures vary between 13oC and 28oC, but can survive higher temperatures. Extended periods at temperatures below 13oC can be dangerous for the plant. The humidity should not descend below 50-60%.
Pots and Substrate - They are grown in plastic or clay vessels, preferably with enough holes for airing and drainage or even in baskets. We use the substrate Terra Orquídeas Epífitas.
Watering and Fertilization - Wears depend on the type of vase used. Vase can be weekly waterings but in a basket we can water twice a week. These plants should only be watered when they are almost dry.
Fertilization should be fifteenth, using Nutri Orquídeas Humic Crescimento when the plant is developing new buds and Nutri Orquídeas Humic Floração as soon as we see the buttons appearing and until the flower falls.
We must apply the biostimulant all year Vital Orquídeas Activ fortnightly, it can be applied in the same watering that the fertilizers (respecting the doses of both to 1 liter of water) or separately (alternate 1 week add another fortifying).
