THE ALLIANCE DENDOBRIUM AND ITS HYBRIDS
Origin - Originally from Asian and Australian continents. We can find orchids of this species in a wide variety of habitats. Hybrids are usually two distinct types, Dendrobium nobile and Dendrobium phalaenopsis (or D .bigibbum).
Luminosity - They like a lot of light without direct sun. In winter, season in which many Dendrobium loses the leaves and enters numbness, should receive as much light as possible. In the hottest season, when they are growing, we must protect them from the most intense light.
Temperature and Humidity - The ideal temperature varies between 8oC and 28oC. Very few Dendrobium have continuous growth throughout the year. Most suspend growth in the coldest season where they support the 8-10oC on colder nights. At that time we protect the plants from moisture and frost.
This cold phase is very important to stimulate flowering. If the plants are in a very humid environment in the cold season, in addition to taking the risk of losing the root system, we can also lose the blooms.
Pots and substrate - In nature, the Dendrobium are epiphytic plants that grow with their pending pseudobolbs. In our homes, especially large plants, grow in small vases with Terra Orquídeas Terrestres.
Watering and Fertilization - Must be abundant in the period of higher heat, which coincides with the plant growth period, when we should use Nutri Orquídeas Humic Crescimento. In the period of numbness (winter) the waterings are suspended and, consequently, the adubation. When we see the beginning of the floral buds and during flowering we must use Nutri Orquídeas Humic Floração.
We must apply biostimulating Vital Orquídeas Activ fortnightly, all year except in the dormant phase, can be applied in the same watering that the fertilizers (respecting the doses of both to 1 liter of water) or separately (alternate 1 week add another fortifying).
