Ficus Ginseng 12 cm - Pot Ceramic Moonligth

The Ficus "ginseng" are "Microcarpa Ficus" that are grafted on a variety of Ficus that "grows" the roots quickly but produces larger and less beautiful leaves than those of the microcarpa ficus, hence the fact that the buds that sprout from the "roots" have leaves larger than those of the grafted zone, and must be ripped out as they compete with those of the graftia.

Ficus Ginseng Bonsai is an interior plant.

Common Name: Ficus Ginseng

Scientific name: Ficus Microcarpa "ginseng" (when presenting the roots or only microcarp in the specimens only grafted without "gross roots").

Characterization: It belongs to the Morace family and is produced/grafted in China.

The name "ginseng" has nothing to do with the plant "Panax Ginseng" (which has medicinal properties), but is due to the fact that Ginseng in Chinese (it comes from "Renshen") translates as "Raiz of Man", and is allusion to the strong roots of these plants.

It is not originally a Bonsai but rather an Ornamental plant of interior, being able to be cultivated as a Bonsai, or even "transformed" in one, changing it to Bonsai vase and can be applied all the techniques of Bonsai as the grass etc.

Location: Inside by a window (maximum distance 50 cm), without curtains or blinds, where you take 2 to 3 hours of direct sun per day, being round 180° weekly, away from heat sources or air conditioning. It can spend the warm months on the street keeping the 2 to 3 hours of direct sun.

Watering: To water abundantly the earth until a lot of water goes out through the drain holes in order to moisten evenly the soil, always above never by immersion, with a fine drain waterer.

Tips on watering, see technical data watering.

Let slightly dry the surface layer of the soil between each watering (to confirm if the plant already needs water, touch the earth with the fingers).

If you have a dish under or cultivate it in a cachepot without drain hole, never leave any water in it (to prevent the roots from rotting).

There is no advantage in spraying the leaves, just do it in the days when it adds up and if the fertilizer goes for folk application, but ensure that they arrive dry at night to avoid fungi.

Nutrition: From February to October/November, with a base plan composed of a complete fertilizer (Fertil Bonsai Humic, or Green & Gold Bonsai Organic or Biogold), and a biostimulant (Bio Bonsai Activ), can still be linked with other products in our range.

Detailed information on how to combine these products the rest of our range, or for a more specific nutrition plan, see complete nutrition plan technical sheet.

Poda: Given the large size of your sheet, it should always be controlled by "Metsumi" at the beginning of the bud.

The formation pruning is usually done after the defoliation in June/July, when we take advantage of to crush and transplant if we cultivate them as Bonsai. When cut frees latex, which "stacks" well, spraying the plant with water.

Tips on pruning, see the technical sheet pruning and defoliation.

Transplant: With Terra Bonsai Folhosas in May/June (between July) after defoliation or strong pruning.

Details about transplantation, post transplantation and specific fortifiers that you can use refer to repotting technical sheet.

Scratch: If we cultivate them as Bonsai and decide to crease the ideal is in the warm months (if it defolies soon after), end of May or June/July is ideal.

Indications on padding, see wiring technical sheet.
