Ficus Tiger Bark Bonsai of 8 Years

The Bonsai Ficus Retusa is a persistent, medium-sized sheet plant.

The most appealing aspect of the Bonsaists is the high resistance allied to the beauty of the bark and aerial roots that can emit, both of which are more evident in the Tiger Bark variety, which has the smaller leaves and shorter midwes.

Ficu Retusa Bonsai is an interior plant.

Common Name: Ficus

Scientific name: Ficus Retusa (there are several species)

Characterization: It belongs to the Morace family and originates from China and India.

There are several species of Ficus grown in Bonsai, but care is practically the same. All are persistent and medium-sized sheet.

The aspect that most attracts the Bonsaists is the high resistance (it is usually said that "it is necessary to take a course to kill a Ficus!") allied to the beauty of the bark and aerial roots that can issue.

Location: Inside by a window (maximum distance 50 cm), without curtains or blinds, where you take 2 to 3 hours of direct sun per day, being round 180° weekly, away from heat sources or air conditioning. It can spend the warm months on the street keeping the 2 to 3 hours of direct sun.

Watering:
To water abundantly the earth until a lot of water goes out through the drain holes in order to moisten evenly the soil, always above never by immersion, with a fine drain waterer.

Tips on watering, see technical data watering.

Let slightly dry the surface layer of the soil between each watering (to confirm if the plant already needs water, touch the earth with the fingers).

If you have a dish under Bonsai, never leave any water in it (to prevent the roots from rotting).

There is no advantage in spraying the leaves, just do it in the days when it adds up and if the fertilizer goes for foliar application, but ensure that they arrive dry at night to avoid fungi.

Nutrition: From February to October/November, with a base plan composed of a complete fertilizer (Fertil Bonsai Humic, or Green & Gold Bonsai Organic or Biogold), and a biostimulant (Bio Bonsai Activ), can still be linked with other products in our range.

Detailed information on how to combine these products the rest of our range, or for a more specific nutrition plan, see complete nutrition plan technical sheet.

Poda: Given the large size of your sheet, it must always be controlled by "Metsumi" at the beginning of the bud. When cut frees latex, which "stacks" well, spraying the plant with water.

Tips on pruning, see the technical sheet pruning and defoliation.

Transplant: With Terra Bonsai Folhosas in May/June (between July) after defoliation or strong pruning.

Details about transplantation, post transplantation and specific fortifiers that you can use refer to repotting technical sheet.

Scratch: With defoliation in the warm months, June/July, it is a very resistant plant supporting very strong jobs and always responding well, provided it is healthy.

Indications on padding, see wiring technical sheet.
