Common Name: Acer Tridente
Scientific name: Acer Buergerianum
Characterization: From China and Korea, it belongs to the Acerace family.
Small leaf tree, caduca, with three lobes (trident), much appreciated for its Outonal coloring and differences of bark tone (the bark falls into scales).
Being very resistant, it is classic to produce it in the style "Sekijojo" (garrado à rock), although it suits many other styles.
Location: Outside, where take 2 to 3 hours of direct sun per day (ideal in the morning or late afternoon), protected from strong winds and frosts. It should also be slightly protected at the peak of the summer, so that the tips of the leaves are not very burned.
Water: Let dry well between waterings (to confirm if the plant already needs water, touch the soil with the fingers), at the time of the budding has a high water consumption.
To water abundantly the earth until a lot of water goes out through the drain holes in order to moisten evenly the soil, always above never by immersion, with a fine drain waterer.
Tips on watering, see technical data collection.
If you have a dish under Bonsai, never leave any water in it (to prevent the roots from rotting).
There is no advantage in spraying the leaves, just do it in the days when it adds up and if the fertilizer goes for foliar application, but ensure that they arrive dry at night to avoid fungi.
Nutrition: From February to September/October, with a base plan composed of a complete fertilizer (Fertil Bonsai Humic, or Green & Gold Bonsai Organic or Biogold), and a biostimulant (Bio Bonsai Activ), can still be linked with other products in our range.
Detailed information on how to combine these products the rest of our range, or for a more specific nutrition plan, see complete nutrition plan technical sheet.
Poda: It is made above a leaf, it is usual to grow 4 to 5 leaves and to cut for the first or second.
In summer, as long as they are healthy, they can be defoliated, to produce a new budding of leaves, which in addition to reduced, will have a better Outonal coloring.
Tips on pruning, see the technical sheet pruning and defoliation.
Transplant: With Terra Bonsai Folhosas in February/March, before the start of the budding.
Details about transplantation, post transplantation and specific fortifiers that you can use refer to repotting technical sheet.
Scratch: Usually at the end of winter before the sprouting, or in summer with total defoliation.
Indications on padding, see wiring technical sheet.
