The gauge Shohin, has about 2 mm, is indicated for cultivation of emphase plants, Bonsai of very small dimensions (mame or Shohin) and as cover on the surface layer of the soil to beautify aesthetically.
Akadama brand Ibaraki - Hard Quality, very resistant.
It has P.H. neutral, it is sterilized free of seeds and weeds, due to its physical characteristics not colligate (does not clay).
In Japan use it to plant all leafy species (caducas and persistent), tambem is mixed with Kiryuzuna, to increase moisture retention in some conifers (e.g. Juniperus).
O Akadama is also widely used in aquariophilia (planted water).
