Insecticide / Acaricide composed of:
Abamectin 0.0015% and Pyrethrins 0.02%. Acts by contact and ingestion.
Developed for use on ornamental plants, it was tested by "Luso-Bonsai" on Bonsai and Orchids (but can be used on other plants), proving effective against: mites (red and yellow spider mites), scale insects (in general), aphids, whiteflies, leaf miners, thrips.
Apply in a ventilated, wind-free area, using gloves, as well as goggles and a mask when dealing with large plants.
Like any chemical, it can be phytotoxic depending on environmental conditions and the plant's health status; do not apply directly on the plants' flowers.
Apply only when combating pests, never preventively, and exclusively for the pests mentioned; it will not be effective on other pests and may cause resistance; it has no action against fungi.
Before applying, ensure the plant is well watered, not thirsty and the leaves are dry; protect the soil with cling film, and apply abundantly, wetting the entire plant, trunk, and underside of the leaves; after application, protect from strong sun and rain and keep out of reach of children.
Make a maximum of 3 applications with eight-day intervals; in case of pest resistance or severe infestations, alternate with another insecticide with different active substances, maintaining the 8-day interval between both.
Whenever possible, prune the plant heavily and remove "visible" pests with a toothpick or cotton swab, or gently with a toothbrush dipped in soap; this applies more to larger pests such as scale insects or aphids.
If the pest is very abundant and/or produces "honeydew" (a sticky substance that hinders the plant's respiration and photosynthesis as well as attracting fungi and ants), a "wash" with a dilution of Neutral Soap (glycerin or white soap, never detergents) in water can be done 48 hours before application.
For this purpose, water the plant well and protect the soil with cling film, spray with the soap solution, let act for a few minutes and remove with water; repeat the process 2 to 3 times ensuring that all soap is removed at the end.
During treatment do not apply foliar fertilizers (watering with fertilizer at the soil level can be done) nor other phytosanitary products (if combining this insecticide with another phytosanitary product, do a foliar watering with water only before application for cleaning).
It should be stored in a cool place, away from children and animals.
