Citrus Myrtifolia Bonsai 32 years old
The Bonsai Citrus Myrtifolia, is a tree of persistent leaves, ovaled about 3 cm long, of a bright green tone.
It is greatly appreciated by very fragrant flowering, followed by fruits with about 2 to 2 cm of diameter, which remain in the plant for a long period, giving it a very attractive image.
He enjoys sun and good exposure, having to live all year abroad, manages to live in the interior, since without any kind of climatization and much sun (e.g. marquises).
Bonsai Citrus Myrtifolia is an outdoor plant.
Common Name: Citrus Myrtifolia
Scientific name: Citrus Myrtifolia
Characterization: It belongs to the family of the Rutaceas, being found throughout the Mediterranean Coast with great expression in Italy, where it is known with "Chinotto" and gives rise to a drink with that name, it is still widely used to aromatize alcoholic beverages and confers the traditional taste of the aperitif Campari.
The name Myrtifolia refers to the fact that its perennial leaf, remember the shape of the leaves of the Murta, its abundant flowers and many fragrant flowers in spring produce an orange, small caliber (2 to 3 cm) of green tone in summer and intense orange in autumn/winter.
Location: In Mediterranean and mild climates, you must live the entire year abroad as long as protected from strong winds and frosts, you need at least 2 to 3 hours of direct sun, you must be rotated 180° weekly.
In more rigorous winter zones, it is appropriate to protect in the colder months, in an interior zone but without any type of climatization (e.g. a marquee), next to a window well exposed to the sun with a minimum of 2 to 3 hours, it must be rotated 180° weekly.
Watering: To water abundantly the earth until a lot of water goes out through the drain holes in order to moisten evenly the soil, always above never by immersion, with a fine drain waterer.
Tips on watering, see technical data watering.
Let slightly dry the surface layer of the soil between each watering (to confirm if the plant already needs water, touch the earth with the fingers).
If you have a dish under Bonsai, never leave any water in it (to prevent the roots from rotting).
There is no advantage in spraying the leaves, just do it in the days when it adds up and if the fertilizer goes for foliar application, but ensure that they arrive dry at night to avoid fungi.
Nutrition: From February to October/November, with a base plan composed of a complete fertilizer (Fertil Bonsai Humic, or Green & Gold Bonsai Organic or Biogold), and a biostimulant (Bio Bonsai Activ), can still be linked with other products in our range.
Detailed information on how to combine these products the rest of our range, or for a more specific nutrition plan, see complete nutrition plan technical sheet.
Poda: We grow 6 to 8 leaves, and then we lower by the first leaves.
Tips on pruning, see the technical sheet pruning and defoliation.
Transplant: With Terra Bonsai Folhosas in February/March, with strong partial defoliation.
Details about transplantation, post transplantation and specific fortifiers that you can use refer to repotting technical sheet.
