Given the technical specificity of post-flowering work on Azaleas, we detail how to perform it, to complement the azalea technical sheet.
At the end of flowering, when the flowers begin to fall/dry, we must:

1 - Remove the old flowers

2- Remove the "Fruits" from the area where the flowers were

3- Branch before cleaning "Fruits"

4- Branch after removing "Fruits"

5 - Selection of buds, in the flower area, we clean those that grow vertically (up and down the branch), leaving 2 lateral ones.

6 - Selected buds

7 - Cleaned and pruned plant, buds selected

If necessary, we can take advantage to transplant immediately afterwards, benefiting from the post-flowering regrowth, and the "Water Balance" that pruning and cleaning provide.
8 - Typical Azalea root "clump", to reduce it we cut it into "slices" with a saw
9- We loosen the lateral roots with a scarifier
10 - We cut the loose roots
11- We apply Rhiza Bonsai Plus at the base of the soil
12- Eliminate the empty spaces between the roots
13- Water abundantly with Bio Bonsai Activ
14- Azalea cleaned, pruned and transplanted in Azaleas Bonsai Soil
After transplanting your Bonsai, for approximately one month you should:
- Protect it from direct sun during the hours of strong sunlight.
- Protect it from strong winds.
- Pay extra attention to watering, not allowing the plant to go through long periods of thirst, but letting the surface layer of the soil dry slightly between waterings, so that the plant's roots can breathe and do not rot due to excess water.
- Stop the fertilization process, only starting it again when the plant shows it has resumed its normal growth (never start fertilizing before 30 days have passed).
Apply Bio Bonsai Activ frequently after transplanting (approximately once a week), which will facilitate the production of new roots.
In addition to this information, also consult the transplant technical sheet.
