The caliber of Shohin, about 2 mm, is suitable for the cultivation of emphasis plants, very small Bonsai (mame or Shohin) and as a surface soil cover to aesthetically enhance the appearance.


Akadama from the Ibaraki Brand - Hard Quality, very resistant.


It has a neutral P.H., is sterilized and free of seeds and weeds, and due to its physical characteristics it does not clump (does not become muddy).


In Japan it is used to plant all deciduous and evergreen leafy species, and it is also mixed with Kiryuzuna to increase moisture retention in some conifers (e.g., Juniperus).


Akadama is also widely used in aquaristics (planted aquariums).
