Common Name: Kojo No Mai Cherry Tree or Fuji Cherry Tree

Scientific Name: Prunus Incisa Kojo No Mai

Characterization: Originating from Japan, it belongs to the Rosaceae family.

It is also known as Fuji Cherry because it grows particularly abundantly around Mount Fuji.

Bonsai of deciduous leaves highly valued by the Japanese people for its early white flowering, which heralds the arrival of Spring, is part of a large group of cherry trees highly appreciated in Japan, the "Sakuras".

Location: Outdoors where it receives 3 to 4 hours of direct sunlight per day (ideally in the morning or late afternoon), protected from strong winds and frost although it tolerates cold well.

Watering: Water the soil abundantly until plenty of water comes out of the drainage holes, in order to evenly moisten the soil, always from above and never by immersion, using a watering can with fine holes.

Allow the surface layer of soil to dry slightly between each watering (to confirm if the plant needs water, touch the soil with your fingers).

If you have a tray under the Bonsai, never leave any water in it (to prevent the roots from rotting).

There is no advantage in spraying the leaves; only do it on days when you fertilize and if the fertilizer is for foliar application, but make sure the leaves dry by night to avoid fungi.

Nutrition: From February to September/October, with a basic plan composed of a complete fertilizer (Fertil Bonsai Humic, or Green & Gold Bonsai Organic or Biogold), and a biostimulant (Bio Bonsai Activ), which can also be combined with other products from our range.

Pruning: Allow 5 to 6 leaves to grow, then cut back to the first leaves.

Repotting: Using Leafy Bonsai Soil in January/February, before leaf budding at the end of or after flowering.
