Technical Sheet - Ryuga Tools

The “Ryuga” Tools are produced in China, with “OEM” quality for the Japanese market, by a first-class garden tool factory. They are the first tools from this factory (a subsidiary of the YM group) to be marketed outside Japan. RYUGA tools follow production and quality control with Japanese standards.
Quality Control Method
In the initial production process of Bonsai tools, the metal parts must be properly hand-cast before being shaped. The heating needed for the shaping process of the cutting area is applied exclusively to this area and does not affect the handles, to ensure the final strength of the tool.
Another important step is the oil cooling process to harden the blade part. Any defects resulting from an incorrect casting process will severely affect the quality of the blade, which may end up breaking. In fact, there is no technique that guarantees a correct casting of the part before the oil cooling process. Therefore, a good control method is crucial to confirm the final quality of the tool.
Ryuga tools comply with high quality parameters defined by the manufacturer to simultaneously ensure consistency in material quality as well as its functionality.
After treatment with cold oil, each part of the tool undergoes a pressure test to ensure the quality of the blade as shown in the image below.
Only parts that pass this test proceed to the finishing process. Each piece is subjected to a second pressure test, ensuring the quality of the entire piece, especially the handles. The handles must not bend after strong pressure...
Done?...NO!
The final test must be the functional test...cutting dry wood to ensure that the cut result is sharp and clean in the middle, and that the handles do not bend...
Any inferior quality will jeopardize the cutting result, break the tool, or cause the blades to spread...
These strict quality control procedures are carried out on all different models of “Ryuga” tools before shipment, including scissors.
We hope in this way to have helped you choose the best Bonsai tools.
