technical sheets - Ryuga Tools

The “Ryuga” Tools are produced in China, under “OEM” quality for the Japanese market, by a top-quality garden tools factory. These are the first tools from this factory (a subsidiary of the YM group) to be marketed outside Japan. The RYUGA tools follow Japanese-standard production and quality control.

Quality Control Method

In the initial production process of Bonsai tools, the metal parts must be properly hand-cast before molding. The heating required for shaping the cutting area is applied exclusively to that area, not affecting the handles, to ensure the tool's final strength.

Another important step is the oil cooling process to harden the blade part. Any faults resulting from an incorrect casting process will severely affect the blade's quality, which may eventually break. In fact, there is no technique that guarantees correct casting of the piece before the oil cooling process. Thus, a good control method is crucial to confirm the tool's final quality.

The "Ryuga" tools adhere to high-quality parameters set by the manufacturer, to simultaneously ensure material quality consistency as well as functionality.

After cold oil treatment, each part of the tool undergoes a pressure test to ensure blade quality as shown in the image below.

Only parts that pass this test continue the finishing process. Each piece is subjected to a second pressure test, ensuring the quality of the entire piece, especially the handles. The handles must not bend after strong pressure...

Done?...NO!

The final test must be the functional test... cutting dry wood to ensure that the cut result is sharp and clean in the middle, and that the handles do not bend...

Any inferior quality will compromise the cutting result, break the tool, or cause the blades to open...

These strict quality control procedures are carried out on all different models of “Ryuga” tools before shipment, including scissors.

We hope this has helped you choose the best Bonsai tools.
