These dishes are made in Yixing, the Chinese capital of quality ceramics for Bonsai.
The dishes serve to physically protect the places where the Bonsai is located, and are not meant for watering; water at the bottom of the dish can cause root fungi.
There should never be any water, no matter how little, left in the dish after watering, and if you have a Bonsai with a dish outdoors during rainy periods, remove or turn the dish upside down.
Given the artisanal nature of the pots, there may be slight differences in the pot's size or slight variations in shade.
