Description: Originating from the temperate zones of Asia, Europe, and Africa, it belongs to the Rosaceae family.
A slow-growing shrub, semi-deciduous leaves, green and small (there are also "variegated" species where part of the leaf is white). Highly appreciated for its white or pink flowers and fruits that can range from red to yellow or even black.
Location: Outdoors, where it gets 2 to 3 hours of direct sunlight per day (ideally in the morning or late afternoon), protected from strong winds and frost.
Watering: Water the soil abundantly until plenty of water comes out of the drainage holes, to evenly moisten the soil, always from above never by immersion, using a watering can with fine holes.

Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between each watering (to confirm if the plant needs water, touch the soil with your fingers).
If you have a tray under the Bonsai, never leave any water in it (to prevent the roots from rotting).
There is no benefit in spraying the leaves; only do so on days when you fertilize and if the fertilizer is for foliar application, but make sure the leaves dry by night to avoid fungi.
Nutrition: From February to October/November, with a basic plan composed of a complete fertilizer (Fertil Bonsai Humic, or Green & Gold Bonsai Organic or Biogold), and a biostimulant (Bio Bonsai Activ), which can also be combined with other products from our range.

Pruning: It has a very bushy growth, with crossed branches. Maintenance pruning is done throughout the growth period. At the end of winter, before budding, formation and reduction pruning can be done to define its structure.
As soon as floral buds appear, pruning should be done carefully to avoid removing them.
