Description: Belongs to the Moraceae family and most species originate from Asia.
Medium/large sized tree, deciduous with light green leaves, which can be rounded or lobed. Highly valued for its fruits and autumn coloration.
Location: Outdoors, where it receives 2 to 3 hours of direct sunlight per day (ideally in the morning or late afternoon), protected from strong winds and frost. It is very hardy, but it is common in mid-summer for the leaves to appear sunburned.
Watering: Has a high water consumption, and although resistant to sun, the leaves dehydrate easily.
Water the soil abundantly until a lot of water comes out through the drainage holes, to evenly moisten the soil, always from above and never by immersion, using a watering can with fine nozzles.

Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between each watering (to check if the plant needs water, touch the soil with your fingers).
If you have a saucer under the Bonsai, never leave any water in it (to prevent the roots from rotting).
There is no benefit in misting the leaves; only do so on days when you fertilize and if the fertilizer is for foliar application, but ensure the leaves dry by nightfall to avoid fungi.
Nutrition: From February to September/October, follow a basic plan consisting of a complete fertilizer (Fertil Bonsai Humic, or Green & Gold Bonsai Organic or Biogold), and a biostimulant (Bio Bonsai Activ), which can also be combined with other products from our range.

Pruning: Due to the large size of the leaves, care must be taken not to let them elongate. Usually, after the first leaf, we perform "Metsumi".
Whenever the plant is healthy, it can be defoliated in mid-summer.

Repotting: Using Bonsai Leafy Soil in February, before bud break begins. Perform a formative pruning along with the repotting to hydraulically balance the plant.
